ALEX-LUI – DISPOSABLE BODIES:

THE STORY OF ALEXANDRA AND LUIZA

A project about safety, vulnerability, and the right to move freely

How does a girl’s daily route to school or leisure become unsafe?
Why do some communities remain silent witnesses to violence?
And how can we, through knowledge and solidarity, change this reality?

ALEX-LUI is a project born from these questions. It explores the stories of Alexandra and Luiza, two young women whose tragic destinies revealed deep, structural problems in Romania’s transportation systems—problems that affect thousands of girls and women every day. Their stories are not isolated. They discuss how vulnerability is built: through unsafe roads, poor infrastructure, a lack of public transport, social indifference, and institutional silence.

ALEX-LUI isn’t just about understanding what happened.
It’s about preventing the next tragedy.
